      Tanjore, Tamil Nadu. About 19th Century AD. Length 31 cm. Breadth 21 cm.

     Copper embossed plates are a class by themselves wherin puranic myths are embossed. Here the famous dice play between the Pandavas and the Kauravas is portrayed. That the play is conducted at the palace is indicated by the Royal seat in which Dhritarashtra is seated.

     Glasses are vitreous coated used to conceal the ceramic body. It is composed of certain colour agents. When they are fired in a kiln, they give a glazed appearance.
