It is a white, massive rock comprised solely of
argillaceous material. It shows concoidal fracture and gives an earthy smell when breathed
upon. It was collected from Bellary.
Conglomerate
It consists a
coarse, rounded, irregular pebbles of varying size cemented by fine ferrogenous and arenaceous
materials. It is highly rough to feel.
Banded
sandstone
It is a fine banded sandstone comprised of pale yellowish
grey and dark grey layers. This specimen was collected from Mysore.
