The interior of the earth has
been divided into three major parts. They are:
-- The Crust
-- The Mantle and
-- The Core.
The crust is the top most
layer of the earth and is divided into two sub-layers namely sial and sima.
The mantle is the source
region for most of the earth's internal energy and of forces responsible for continental drift
and major earthquakes.
The core is separated by
mantle and extends up to the centre of the earth. It is sub divided in to inner and outer
core.
